Carmarthen NightLight is a street support scheme which has been running very successfully since January 2011.  It was set up by Carmarthen CYTUN (Churches Together in Wales) after an approach from the police and Carmarthenshire County Council and the scheme receives funding from the Carmarthenshire Community Safety Partnership as well as donations from local churches and well-wishers.  It has also received a grant from the St. David’s Diocese Venturing in Mission Fund.

After the initial approach, a small Steering Group of representatives from The Salvation Army, St. Peter’s Church, St. Mary’s Church, Llangunnor Church and Towy Community Church was set up and met for the first time on 2nd June 2009.  The first training sessions were held in the autumn of 2010 and the first Street Team went out on 15th January 2011.
